9:15 - 9:45 a.m. | Quick Data Solution – Customizable Realtime and Historical Financial Market Data Backend "How can one access financial market data in real-time, potentially streaming thousands of client connections simultaneously? Quick Data Solution is a framework of Google Cloud components which have been developed for high demand delivery performance, data points and parallel connections. This allows for the creation of a scalable backend and customizable for each project. In this session, we will illustrate with a use case where a client creates a social media platform which allows for the creation of chart analysis, publication of ideas, voting, tracking, and getting a trust score. We will go into the details of why certain Google Cloud component were chosen, how we solve the challenge of potential exposure of PII data and how we intend to meet scaling requirements." 9:45 - 10:15 a.m. | Accelerating the Impact of Cloud for Trading Workflows "Phrases such as “real-time analytics” and “microsecond response” do not automatically imply cloud applicability. However, the transformational impact of cloud technologies is very real for trading infrastructures, and firms in APAC are grappling with the scaling opportunities – and constraints – which come with it. In this session, KX will discuss their insights on how market data, trading and cloud infrastructure teams are collaborating to accommodate the cloud meta-trend, from research and modelling to production, from low frequency to high frequency, and from offline reporting to on-demand analytics to real-time signals." API Strategy for the Future
"No technology construct operates without APIs. They are the key to interaction and services delivery. The problem is that there are far too many of them. This session will review: • Challenges with legacy APIs and their obsolescence • Integration challenges of multiple APIs • Multi-Language, Multi-Platform APIs • How API standardization provides ease of platform choice • Development efficiency gains We will review two case studies to illustrate the points above. The first case study will examine how a bank unified its API structure across direct broker data delivery to achieve material development efficiencies and meaningful data cost reduction. This use case covers both the market data and market access domains. The second case study will examine a bank migration away from legacy market data APIs to deploy a standardized API abstraction. This bank now enjoys ease of platform switching as a configuration option. " Brian Stephens, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Pegasus Enterprise Solutions |

Cloud-Based Frameworks for Real-Time Analytics of Market Data
ASX and Google Cloud have partnered to add value to the market data supply chain by performing common, complex calculations once and persisting the output in widely accessible datasets -- as an alternative to pushing these calculations onto the market data consumer. Order book construction is the first use case tackled by ASX and Google Cloud.
But what's the best way to construct an order book's point-in-time state, given a rapid-fire series of stateless depth-of-book messages? The answer may be 'With an Apache Beam pipeline!', especially for use cases with lax latency requirements but intimidating scalablility demands. This session discusses the value of using Apache Beam to construct an order book-building pipeline that delivers roughly consistent performance as input datasets increase. The session also delves into the 'calculate once, read many, read anywhere' paradigm that may dramatically alter the industry's order book computation landscape.

Panel: Cloud – TECHNOLOGY, the broad spectrum and the full stack
"It is technology that enables market data in the cloud. One size does not fit all. There is both a ‘stack’ and a ‘spectrum’ to consider. We review the different layers of that stack and who positions themselves in some of these layers. The broad spectrum of latency also needs to be addressed. The how we get market data into the cloud is a fascinating and evolving topic." Moderator Stuart Roberts, Founder, Sprada Pte Ltd. Panel: Managing Market Data – Getting the Job Done in 2023
Our jobs require new skills and knowledge, adapting to different processes against the backdrop of technological evolution. Data licensing is changing as exchanges seek to contract directly with consumers and data licensing agreements shift to a Digital Rights Management (DRM) approach. The data vendor model is being challenged by consumers' use of cloud services to aggregate best-of-breed, cost-optimized “data lakes” populated by multiple information providers. If that was not enough, market data administration resourcing is becoming a menagerie of FTEs, contractors, off-shore teams, and SaaS service providers. How can a market data manager increase capacity, manage a virtual team, cope with a new technological environment, track performance, and deliver cost-savings? Moderator Paul Nash, Global Business Director, Solace Corp Janet Cheung, Vice President, Goldman Sachs Garett Lim, Global Business Director, SIX Gavin Lau, Senior Technical Manager, Market Data, Fidelity International James Watson, Global Head of Sales, TraditionData |

Panel: ESG Data - Opportunities and Innovation
While there are flaws and gaps in ESG data – usage begets quality. The urgency for better measurement and management and the increase in mandatory reporting and data usage is driving inexorable progress in this area. This is a new area for many data professionals but essentially, it’s a data and data management problem. Good old-fashioned concepts of accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance, validity, and timeliness are all equally applicable and with ESG AUM forecast to exceed a third of global AUM by 2025, the skills in this (FISD) community will play a big role in the financing of our greener more sustainable future. This panel will review the sustainability data “supply chain” and recent (since COP26) changes in data standards. Our experts will decipher the acronym soup, analyse the direction and rate of evolution of this data set and discuss the role experienced data professionals will play in accelerating this critical initiative. Moderator: Randall Duran, Senior Lecturer, Singapore Management University Dan Chesterman, Group Executive, Technology and Data, Chief Information Officer , ASX James Crosby, Founder and CEO, Fencore Ho Eng Ban, Director, Asia Pacific, CUSIP Global Services Jerry Lee, Product Specialist, ICE Data Services Nicole Lim, ESG Investment Analyst, abrdn |

Panel: Market Data – Thinking About The People (i.e., You!)
Market Data is a fascinating but somewhat esoteric part of the capital markets. Products, services, and technology make for excellent discussions. One aspect less often considered is you/us i.e., the people who work in and who are part of the market data community. Attracting new talent, retaining, and nurturing existing valuable staff, and simply managing and supporting the human resource that drives market data is a massive topic – and a topic close to all our hearts. Understanding the difficulties, we face and the possibilities to improve is a challenge we should all embrace. This discussion is very multi layered and has regional or even country variations, and differences between job functions e.g., technical/engineering contrasted with commercial and content. Let’s explore this and find ways of making our working lives better and so much more. Moderator: David Anderson, Program Director, FISD/Atradia Kathryn Dunn, Executive Director , JPMorgan Chase & Co Martina Satherlund, Head of Market Data , Fidelity International Joyce Tan Head of Market Data Development & Delivery, SGX Group Sallianne Taylor, Principal Advisor within the External Relations & Government Affairs team, Bloomberg |
