
APAC Senior Open Symbology Data Strategist, Bloomberg
Frances Liu is a senior data professional with over 19 years of experience in the financial industry, specializing in market identifiers, reference data, financial standards, digital assets, and ESG data. In her current role, she leads APAC Open Symbology strategy and product development, overseeing the implementation of the Financial Instrument Global Identifier (FIGI) and Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) standards across the region.
Frances is also an active contributor to global standardization initiatives. She serves as a member of the ISO TC322 Sustainable Finance Working Group under the Standardization Administration of China and the ISO TC68 e-Finance Services Group under Enterprise Singapore. Since early 2025, she has co-chaired the APAC FIX Technical Committee, reinforcing her commitment to advancing industry standards and best practices.
Prior to joining the Open Symbology team in 2017, Frances was an APAC Senior ESG Specialist, where she established the Hong Kong Sustainability Reporting Working Group in 2012.
